Word from the Artist

Enchanting, seductive, exuberant, bewitching; a swell of adjectives come to mind when I consider New Orleans.  Unlike the chain dominated façades of most American towns, the charming reality we live in here is rich with personal touches and family owned gems.  We are bound by shared festivals and hardships, which have forged a whimsical fusion of contemporary and historical aesthetics.
Nola House Portraits is dedicated to the creation of original artworks that commemorate the homes where our narratives unfold.  I photograph and then draw each image by hand with ink on heavy weight paper.   All of the materials used are artist quality to stand the test of time and enclosed with a mat in a Mylar envelope.  I look forward to working with you to create a portrait of your home that will become part of your story.

Sincerely,

Morgan Muhs

Bio: I am calling New Orleans home again after living in North Carolina for a few years, and aside from the occasional power outage, tire exploding pothole and oppressive humidity, I am re-assimilating well.  I have a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I studied printmaking.  Right now I am leading an art class for seniors and teaching in an after school program at an elementary school.  Can't decide which one I like more, as both leave me in stitches.
